Less water, more harvest: the measured results
Universities, research centres and farms have tested the EVERGREEN water retainer, on its own or with the ECOFERT fertiliser, on seven crops in six countries. Each page carries the figures from the report and links to the full document.
The principle is the same everywhere: the water retainer holds water near the roots and hands it back to the plant little by little. Depending on the crop and the climate, the trials measure up to 82% less water and up to 93% more harvest.

Trials under way with universities
- Red maples in town — University of Florida. The Klein arboriculture lab (Gainesville) is testing EVERGREEN on 90 red maples planted in April 2025: 30 with the gel in the planting hole, 30 with the gel mixed into the soil around the tree, 30 without gel. A two-year study. PDF
- Douglas fir reforestation — Oregon State University. The VMRC research cooperative is testing EVERGREEN on two reforestation sites with contrasting water deficits, near Coquille and Roseburg: 48 seedlings with gel and 48 without, on each site. Planted in February 2025, a two-year study. PDF
